Chocolate is a favorite dessert for many people. But not many people know that is possible to do face masks with the use of chocolate and that these masks can make a very good job hydrating, lifting, rejuvenating and toning your face.
We are talking about good quality chocolate with the percentage of cocoa of minimum 70% or more. The dark chocolate contains flavonoids, which protect cells from free radical damage.
It also contains caffeine, a de-puffing ingredient often added to skin care products. Dark chocolate contains vitamin A, B-complex, D and E, great for absorption of calcium, then copper, iron, manganese, magnesium, and zinc.
The chocolate facial is getting popular by the day. Rich in antioxidants, chocolate helps reverse the signs of aging. It moisturizes your skin, protects the sun damage and tightens by maintaining the collagen production.
Chocolate Face Mask
You can make your own chocolate face mask at home by mixing:
- 2 to 3 tablespoons of dark cocoa powder
- 2 to 3 tablespoons of plain yogurt to make a pasta
Apply with fingertips to clean, dry skin and let sit for 10-15 minutes. Rinse with lukewarm water.
The cocoa powder is high in antioxidants, and the yogurt contains lactic acid to help unclog pores.
Or you can simply warm up the chocolate until it becomes a liquid. When is cool add yogurt.
Hydrating Chocolate Face Mask
Take 50 grams of chocolate with 70-90% content of cocoa. Warm it up till it becomes liquid.
Mix 1 tablespoon of liquid chocolate, 1 tablespoon olive oil, and 1 egg’s yolk. Mix it all up very well and spread all over your face for about 15 minutes and then rinse with lukewarm water.
Toning Chocolate Face Mask
You need the same chocolate liquid, apple, banana, strawberries, watermelon. Mix all these ingredients in your blender. After that put 2-3 tablespoons of this mix into the bowl. Apply the mask on your face for about 20 minutes and rinse with lukewarm water.
If a big part of your tasty smoothly stayed in your blender, you can happily drink it.
